App privacy policy
This policy covers the mobile apps I publish under my own name, Sebastian Cochinescu, on the App Store and Google Play. For these apps I am the data controller. Questions and requests about your data go tosebastian@cochinescu.com.
In short: the children's apps send me nothing. Chat with Jenna and AI Daily Coffee Insights send what you give them, your messages or your photos, to my server so the app can answer, and rely on the services listed below to do it. Calculus sends your practice history only when you ask it to back it up. None of the apps show ads, sell data, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

What each app collects
Chat with Jenna
- There is no sign-up. On first launch the app creates a random identifier on your device and uses it to get a login token from my server. It never asks for your name, email address, or phone number.
- Your messages and Jenna's replies are stored on my server, so the app can show your history and Jenna can remember earlier conversations.
- To write each reply, your message and relevant earlier messages are sent to OpenAI. Messages are also checked with OpenAI's moderation service.
- The server counts your messages each day to apply the daily limit.
- Mixpanel receives usage events, such as app opens, screens viewed, and errors, together with basic device details. They are tied to the random identifier.
- If you subscribe, Apple handles the payment. RevenueCat tells the app which subscription is active and receives the random identifier and the purchase details. I never see your card.
Anything you type is stored, so please keep things you would not want on a server, such as health details or passwords, out of the chat.
AI Daily Coffee Insights
- There is no sign-up. The app uses a random identifier created on your device, as Chat with Jenna does.
- The photos you take or choose are uploaded to my server, stored together with the analysis the app gives you, and sent to OpenAI to produce that analysis. The app asks for camera or photo library access only so you can take or pick that photo.
- You can delete any reading from your history inside the app.
- Mixpanel receives usage events tied to the random identifier. Subscriptions work as in Chat with Jenna: Apple or Google handles the payment, and RevenueCat keeps track of which subscription is active.
Calculus: Abacus & Mental Math
Practice works offline, and your history stays on your device. If you tap Back up & restore, the app creates a random identifier on your device, uses it to sign in to my server, and uploads your practice sessions: the exercises, your answers, how long each one took, and when you practised. It then downloads them to restore your history. Nothing is sent unless you tap that button. There are no ads, analytics, or purchases. You can ask me to delete your backup data any time on the delete my data page.
Puzzle fun game
The game collects no data and makes no network connections. Your progress stays on your device.
Dorința Mariei and Le désir de Marie
These interactive storybooks work offline. They collect no data, send nothing to me, and contain no ads or analytics. If a version shows a Facebook share button, it opens Facebook in your browser only when you tap it.
Spot the geometric shapes
The game keeps your scores and settings on your device and contains no ads or analytics. If you are signed in to Game Center, your high score and the number of games you played are posted to Game Center leaderboards, which Apple runs under its own privacy policy. Other players can see your Game Center nickname and score there. The share and rate buttons open X or the App Store only when you tap them.
Măr
Măr appears on the App Store under my name, but the service is operated by AppleNet SRL, which is the controller for its data. Its own privacy policy applies, in Romanian:mar.ro/confidentialitate.
Services that process data for these apps
- OpenAI writes Jenna's replies and the coffee analyses, and screens content. OpenAI says it does not use data sent through its API to train its models unless the customer opts in.
- Mixpanel provides usage analytics.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status.
- Apple and Google distribute the apps and process payments under their own privacy policies.
I do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.
Why I process it
- To give you what you asked the app for: a reply to your message, an analysis of your photo, your history, a backup of your practice, and the subscription you paid for. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Usage analytics, daily limits, moderation, and security, to keep the apps working, affordable, and safe. The legal basis is my legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), and you can object to it at any time.
How long it is kept
Chat history, photos, analyses, and Calculus backups stay on my server for as long as the app keeps your history available, and I delete them when you ask. Usage data in Mixpanel is deleted on request too. Uninstalling an app removes the random identifier and the login token from your device, which means the app can no longer reach your old data, but the data stays on the server until you ask me to delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, for corrections, for deletion, for restricted processing, or for your data in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write tosebastian@cochinescu.com with the name of the app and roughly when you used it. Since the apps have no accounts, I may ask for a detail only you would know, such as a message you sent or a photo you uploaded, so I act on the right data. I reply within one month. The delete my data page has the steps and a ready-made email.
You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority,ANSPDCP, or to the authority in the country where you live.
Children
Dorința Mariei, Le désir de Marie, Spot the geometric shapes, and Puzzle fun game are made for children, and I collect no personal data through them. Chat with Jenna and AI Daily Coffee Insights are not meant for children under 13. If you believe a child has sent data through one of them, write to me and I will delete it.
Security and transfers
The apps talk to my server over HTTPS, and the login token is kept in the device's secure storage. OpenAI, Mixpanel, and RevenueCat are US companies and may process data in the United States, under the safeguards set out in their data processing terms.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If an app starts collecting something new, it will be described here first.
